As the faculty recieved the most recent classroom book orders, it was noted that the The Golden Compass was one of the choices.  We discussed the issues surrounding this book and decided that we would not allow students to order that book or any of the books in the trilogy through our book orders.  If one of the books is marked on the order form, the student will be given the opportunity to choose another book or to get a refund. Philip Pullman's trilogy is actually called His Dark Materials Trilogy and the three books are entitled The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass. 

If you allow your child to read the triology, we recommend that you read the books first and then discuss the books with  your child as he/she finishes them.
