3rd Grade Extra Credit

Students have started asking about extra credit options. So here’s the scoop… Of course, doing extra credit is completely optional. J
1. Students must bring their idea for an extra credit report, project, or assignment to Miss Kaisler. They need to get teacher approval before starting an assignment or project.
2. Points will be given based on the amount of work required to complete an assignment.
3. The extra credit should relate to the units that we have been studying. This will give students an opportunity to show what they have learned or gain more in-depth knowledge of something we have discussed. Subjects, units, and possible options are listed below.
Reading: Create a book report for something you have read. There are many neat ideas for book report projects available online.
Students could also read and summarize a newspaper or magazine article.
Social Studies: Making and using maps; Regions of the U.S.
Language: Writing a paragraph; Nouns and verbs; Descriptive writing
Math: We have covered addition and subtraction. Be creative and find a way to use what you’ve learned!
Science: Plants, Animals, and Ecosystems

5. All extra credit is due by Thursday, November 11th. No late projects will be accepted.

*Reminder: Extra Credit is a chance for students to enrich their learning. While parents are welcome to assist their child, the project should be student-led and the student must do the work. Help your child find something they want to do, and then let them learn!
