First Grade News
Week of September 7-10th
Religion: The Birth of Moses (Exodus 2) and Leader Moses (Exodus 12)
Memory: The bible verses for memory correspond to what the students are studying in religion. They need to know the verse and where it is found.
Due Wednesday: Rejoice in the Lord and be glad. Psalm 32:11
Due Thursday: I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord. Jeremiah 29:11
Due Friday: Show me Your ways, O Lord…guide me in Your truth and teach me. Psalm 25:4-5
Math: Students will continue working on ordering numbers and begin working on addition.
Tuesday: Lesson 2-4
Wednesday: Worksheet
Thursday: Lesson 3-1
Reading: We are continuing our unit “Back to School.” Students will be working with the /d/, /n/, /h/, and short i sounds. Students will also begin working on an interview project. There will be a separate note sent home about this project. Students will be learning about nouns this week. There will be a test on Friday.
Tuesday: Book #9
Wednesday: Book #10
Thursday: Book #11
Friday: Book #12 in class (It will be sent home for extra practice if needed.)
Spelling: There will be a test on Friday.

*Thank you for the great response to the class shirts. You will not need to pay for your shirt until it arrives. If you have already turned in money, I will hold on to it and let you know if there is any additional amount owed. We do not yet know the exact cost.
