2/8-2/12
We will be finishing the January/February hymn of the month, “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty” Tuesday and continuing with the 6th and 7thPetitions. All memory will be fill-in-the-blank.
Tuesday, 2/9 (verse 5)
Praise to the Lord! O let all that is in me adore Him!
All that has life and breath, come now with praises before Him!
Let the Amen sound from His people again;
Gladly forever adore Him.
Wednesday, 2/10 (The 6th Petition)
And lead us not into temptation.
What does this mean? God tempts no one. We pray in this petition that God would guard and keep us so that the devil, the world, and our sinful nature may not deceive us or mislead us…
Thursday, 2/11 (The 6th Petition continued…)
…into false belief, despair, and other great shame and vice. Although we are attacked by these things, we pray that we may finally overcome them and win the victory.
Friday, 2/12 (The 7th Petition)
But deliver us from evil.
What does this mean? We pray in this petition, in summary, that our Father in heaven would rescue us from every evil of body and soul, possessions and reputation…
