Kindergarten Newsletter December 14-18 S.O.A.R. Standing on the Almighty Rock Teacher: Mrs. Klosterman Email: Rachel.Klosterman@lsportal.net School Phone: 358-2512 Home Phone: 524-8249 Class Work *Reading– Students will be learning the short o sound like in mop, the r sound, and the soft g sound like in goat. Student will need to bring in a list of 5 words that use the short o sound and turn into class on WEDNESDAY. For example, have your child look in newspapers, magazines, books, ect and find words with the short o sound and record. Students will need to read Ron Hops on Friday night. * Word Wall Words (star words) this week- him, on *Religion– Jesus Birth *Memory– We will be working on Christmas parts and songs. *Math-Students will be identifying 1-cup measuring, quart measuring, and numbers 10-20. *Science- Plant Growth *Social Studies- We will continue making a gingerbread town. Please send in a map of the United States on MONDAY. The map can be any type. This Weeks Happenings in Kindergarten Monday- Chapel 8:30 Wednesday- Library Thursday– Show and Tell: Something about the Christmas Story; Making Christmas ornaments with the BCHS letterman’s club Snacks and Drinks Emma Brelage will have snacks and drinks this week and be the star of the week. Mrs. Klosterman will have snacks and drinks on Monday. News Our school auction is the last Saturday in February. Our class be donating items for a themed basket. If you have any ideas please let me know. After Christmas break I will be having the students clean their art boxes and put new supplies in. I do not have extra glue for each child. Please send in a glue stick with your child either now or after Christmas. Mrs. Hackman is going to take another job starting January 4. If you know of someone interested in being a teachers aide Monday through Friday from 8 to 12 please let the office know. Remember to send in your child’s gift and a toy if you would like to donated a gentle used toy or toys in memory of Grace. Please continue to keep the Scarlett family in your prayers. Our Christmas party will be on Tuesday, December 22. Those helping include: Snacks: Ashley Wolka, Drinks: Heidi Winton, Plates and Napkins: Angie Stuckwisch, Party Favors: Kandy Wischmeier and Angie Hallow, Games/Activities: Connie Stahl, Help at Party: Stacey Shoemaker and Rhonda Otting. The party will begin at 1:30 with snacks and then students will open presents and do activities.
