Kindergarten Newsletter December 7-11 S.O.A.R. Standing on the Almighty Rock Teacher: Mrs. Klosterman Email: Rachel.Klosterman@lsportal.net School Phone: 358-2512 Home Phone: 524-8249 Class Work *Reading– We are beginning a unit titled”Stick to It.” The stories in this unit our about determination and never quitting. Students will be working on the b and c sounds this week. Friday- Read Cal Can Bat. Students will be taking a benchmark test this week. I will let you know if your child did not show progression from the first two tests. * Word Wall Words (star words) this week- can, his *Religion– Shepherds Announcement *Memory– Infant holy, Infant lowly, For His bed a cattle stall, oxen lowing, little knowing Christ the child is Lord of all. *Math-Counting and ordering numbers 0 to 20. *Science- Temperature *Social Studies- We will be making a gingerbread town. Students will be creating the buildings in the community and the people (workers) of the community. This Weeks Happenings in Kindergarten Monday- Chapel 8:30 Wednesday- Library Thursday– Show and Tell: Something that begins with or has the /i/ sound in it Snacks and Drinks Cooper Wolka will have snacks and drinks this week and be the star of the week. Emma Brelage will have snacks and drinks next week and be the star of the week. News I apologize for sending the new book-it forms home without the monthly goal. Each student needs to read 20 minutes 3 nights a week to receive the reward for December. All forms are due when we come back from break, January 4. As we enter the winter season, please beware that their may be 2 hour delays or school may be closed for a full day due to inclement weather. If our school is closed it will be listed under Brownstown School Corporation on both the radio and local television stations. Remember to send your child with a heavy coat, gloves, hats, and warm clothes. As we will be going outside for recess unless it is below 32 degrees outside. Our Christmas party will be on Wednesday, December 22. Those helping include: Snacks: Ashley Wolka, Drinks: Heidi Winton, Plates and Napkins: Angie Stuckwisch, Party Favors: Kandy Wischmeier and Angie Hallow, Games/Activities: Connie Stahl, Help at Party: Stacey Shoemaker and Rhonda Otting. The party will begin at 1:30 with snacks and then students will open presents and do activities. If you are signed up for something and have a conflict or need help please let me know. Students first through eighth grade are practicing their Christmas programs. If you know what your child will be doing during your churches program please let me know so we can work on it. As Christmas gets closer, please continue to remember the Scarlett family in your prayers.
