Language Arts:
Story: The Elves and the Shoemaker (Quiz on Thursday)

Decodable: A Good Life at the Lake
Skills: predicting, long vowel review, verbs, sequencing, complete/incomplete sentences, using correct punctuation

Language and Word Wall Test on Friday, September 18th 
 
Please monitor your child’s progress on the daily seatwork sent home. If you are seeing a lot of red marks, your child is either not getting his/her work finished in a timely manner or is struggling with the concepts. 
 
Math: Using a thermometer, counting money, fact families, word problems  
 
Social Studies: Unit one test on Wednesday, September 16th. This is moved back a day as we have not gotten as far in the book as I had planned.     
 
 Science: We’ll begin Unit 2—All About Animals
 
REMEMBER: Grade Reviews will be issued on Sept. 18th. Please return them on Monday, September 21st. Thanks! 
 
Please remember to send in the Windy City Players money ($2.25) as they will be appearing at LC on Wednesday, September 16.   Thanks. 
 
Continue to work on math facts with your child and monitor your child’s reading habits. Keep working on A.R.—the STAR reading test was given and your child now has a readability number to use when choosing books.  Your child will experience success with additional PRACTICE in areas where there is a weakness. Thank you for your support.
