First Grade News: April 21-25, 2008
Religion- The Great Commission- Matthew 28:16-20
Jesus Ascends to Heaven- Acts 1:1-12

Tuesday: Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name

Math- Students will be learning to identify rectangular prisms, numbers to 500, and subtractions facts. This will be the last week for 1st grade Saxon math. Next week we will do the first 10 lessons from 2nd grade math then we will review. Students will have a fact test on Thursday and a written test on Friday.

Reading-We are continuing our unit on “Away We Grow” As a part of our board for this unit, students will need to bring in pictures of either different kinds of plants or plants we can eat. All students need to bring in a picture of one or the other by Friday.
Students will be reviewing the long and short I sound this week. Students will have a test on Friday over the story The Garden and the poem Saguaro and concepts learned this week.

Thursday: Read Decodable #103
Writing: Book Reports

*School WILL be in session on Friday, April 25 and Monday, April 28 since we missed a 2 days in February due to snow.
* 1st and 2nd grade will be taking a field trip to the Louisville Zoo on Wednesday May 21. There will be a permission slip coming home the beginning of May.
*Friday, May 9 is our school Fine Arts Fair. It is mandatory for students to be there for the program beginning at 7.
