The Lutheran Central Saint
April 2007
2006-2007 Theme: Can You Hear Me Now?

Easter is such an important event in our church year! We spent Holy week reliving the horrible suffering that Jesus went through and then we came to the excitement of Easter. What joy and peace we have in knowing that Jesus did not stay dead. His resurrection from dead guaranteed our resurrection on the last day removing the fear of death and destroying Satan’s main power over us. I pray that the peace and joy that God offers will live in your heart always and that you will share that same peace and joy with your family and friends!

I hope that you have been to our new web site and seen some of the changes. We are continuing to work at keeping it updated and are learning more about that all the time. This newsletter appears there also, as do a number of things that the office and our teachers are adding. Please check it out and let us know what you think and what you would like to see on the site.

On Friday, April 20 at 7:00 p.m., the kindergarten through four graders will be presenting the musical, The Cheese Stands Alone. The musical is based on a song from the childhood game, The Farmer in the Dell. The musical focuses on the negative effects of peer pressure and the positive light of the love and forgiveness we all have through Jesus, our Savior. All are invited to attend the performance at the Brownstown Central High School auditorium. A matinee performance (dress rehearsal) will be presented at 1:00 P.M. on April 20 that is also open to the public. A free will offering will be gathered with the proceeds going into our Fine Arts Fund

Planning has begun for the May 11 Fine Arts Festival. Teachers are currently planning and preparing what their class will present to the audience. The evening will include music, skits, and poetry performed by the students from LC and art work done by the students throughout the year will be on display also. I remind you that all students are required to attend and participate with their class.

During National Lutheran Schools Week our students participated in the St. Jude’s Math-A-Thon program and raised $2031.70 for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospitals. Wesley Pottschmidt was our top Math-A-Thon person raising $225.00. Over the years, Lutheran Central has raised almost $15,000 through this program. Congratulations Wesley and thanks to all that contributed to this worthy cause.
