Edible Earth Project
On page 223 in your science book, you read about the layers of the earth.
Using what you learned in your textbook, make an edible model of the earth’s layers. You will want to start with a base that is sturdy. (cookie sheet, pizza pan, cardboard) Your model does not have to be three dimensional. It may be flat.
You will want to use a different color or type of food for each layer. You will need to label each layer. You can use toothpicks with small labels attached to show the different layers. Make sure you include the crust, the mantle, and the core. Use the diagram on page 223 as a guide as to how big each layer should be.
In your best handwriting, write a paragraph describing the layers of the earth. (Use the information on page 223.) Turn this paper in with your project.
The project is due Friday, May 14th. We will share the models in class on that day. The models only need to be big enough for other students to have a taste of the “earth.”
This project will count for a test grade. Do your best! If you have any questions, don’t wait too long to ask.
