My morning devotions the last few days have focused on the book of Exodus and Moses’ struggles with the children of Israel. In Chapter 32, after they make the golden calf, Moses goes back up the mountain to meet with God again. He begs God to forgive the people and then says, “-but if not, then blot me out of the book you have written”. We have all experienced times when someone we love has failed at something or made wrong choices and we want to step in and make things better or suffer the consequences for them. Usually this is not possible or wise to do so since each of us needs to learn from our mistakes. God is the only one that can do that and He has already done it by sending Jesus to atone for all our wrongs on the cross. Now He asks us to trust in Him, that what He did was, indeed, enough! Each day at LCS we share that message with your children so that they can to can know that it was, indeed, enough!
A big Thank You goes out, a little in advance, to all of those that helped make our annual Chili supper a success. We could not do this without those that volunteer their time during the day preparing for the supper and assisting with the serving during the evening. The money made from this event has, in the past, allowed us to purchase important things like that enhance the student’s education here at LCS. Your support allows us to do things that we could not do otherwise. Thank you very much!
I encourage all of you to continue to save Campbell’s Soup labels, box tops, and printer cartridges and to register your shopper’s card at Jay C. All of these ongoing fundraisers benefit LC by allowing us to purchase non-budgeted items. This past spring, we purchased numerous things for the classrooms from these sources, including a Jeopardy Game which has been used quite often so far this school year. Thank you for your support!
We are still looking for a person or two that could donate a few hours per week to help our teachers out. The work would be to run off materials for any teacher that has something they need for their classes. If you would be willing to donate a couple of hours on the same day each week, please let us know.
