Religion- The Story of Ruth; The Story of Hannah
Memory- Hymn of the Month- Onward Christian Soldiers
Monday: Onward Christian soldiers, marching as to war
Tuesday: With the cross of Jesus Going on before.
Wednesday: Christ the royal master, leads against the foe
Thursday: Forward into battle see His banners go!
Math- Students will be counting dimes, counting by two’s, identifying time to the hour, and subtracting 0. Students will take a math test on Friday and a fact test on Thursday.

Reading-We are starting a new unit in reading called “I am Responsible”. We will be doing many activities both at school and at home with this unit. Students will be working on the /sh/, /th/, /ch/, and /or/ sounds this week. If you notice any problems with these sounds at home let me know. Students will take a skills test over concepts learned this week on Friday. The high frequency words they need to know are: get, that, this, for, out

* I am still noticing problems on certain high frequency words. Please work with your child at home on these words: what, when, were, where, why, was, and who
*Our comprehension strategies this week are: Visualizing, Clarifying, and Asking Questions.

Spelling: Students will take a pretest on Monday which will not count for a grade. The test will be on Fridays.

Language/English: Sentences
Handwriting- Shape of letters, Dd, ?, !
Social Studies- Citizens
*We will be discussing America this week.
* The students will have an assignment due by Friday.
*Bring in postcards, souvenirs, ect. of a state in the U.S. where you have
been. If your child has not been there share with them what you saw when
you were there. On Friday they will share with the class there state.
Science- How Plants and Animals Live
* Dane Darlage will be on the All About Me Board next week.
* Grandparent’s Day is Friday, November 9. Students will be bringing invitations home this week to give to their Grandparents. We need to know how many invitations your child needs. Please let me know this week. Thank you!
* Parent Teacher Conferences are Monday and Tuesday this week. If you have a conflict with the time you are assigned to, let me know as soon as possible.
* Friday night is our school’s Chili Supper. Our class will have decorations on the tables.
* Mark, Luke, and Trevor will all celebrate their Baptismal Birthday’s in class at 2:30 on Friday.
*I have been reading the book Stuart Little to the class. We will watch the movie on Friday.
*Just a reminder next Friday Oct. 19 and Monday Oct. 22 are both no busing days.
