Social Studies: We’ll begin Unit Four—People Long Ago. For the Unit Four Project, the children are asked to choose one person from history and research information about him or her. I will ask the children their choice so that we don’t have any duplicates so, please have several ideas to choose from. The students will use the research they have done to write a journal entry from the point of view of their person. The journal entry will focus on a single day in the person’s life. I’d like for the students to choose an important day in the person’s life so that I will learn why that person is remembered. More info will come after we’ve determined each student’s choice. I will ask for the choices to be given to me by January 14th. Thank you.
F.Y.I. Thank you for the suggestions for the Second Grade Class Basket for the LC Auction. We’ve got some great ideas. With the snow days, we were unable to vote. The students will vote this week and I’ll give out the information so that you can determine what you would like to put toward the basket. Thanks again for the suggestions given.
Grade Two will be leading Chapel on Monday, February 8th. It begins at 8:30 a.m. Please feel free to attend if your schedule permits. Grandparents are welcome to attend also!!!
Don’t forget that the Public Library Book Club begins this week. You’ll need to contact the library if you’ve not yet signed up.
Don’t forget to work on the Pizza Hut Challenge for January!!
Thank you.
May God continue to bless you with His love and peace in this New Year!
