Math: Writing a date using digits, using a Venn diagram, ordering two digit numbers, word problems, counting money, and symmetry
KEEP WORKING ON MATH FACTS. It is essential to learn the adding and subtracting facts this year. You will be amazed at how much it helps! It takes practice, practice, and more practice!!!!
Social Studies- We continue to work on Unit Two. Please remember that the Unit Project—a concentration game using landforms is due on October 30. See article on the LC web site for information.
Science-We’ll continue working on chapter three. We may get the chapter test in on Wednesday. I will let you know if that becomes a reality.
Please remember the annual Chili Dinner this evening, October 16th.
Please remember that we’ll have Parent-Teacher conferences on Monday and Tuesday, October 19th and 20th.
DUE TO CONFERENCES NO HELP SESSION ON 10/20/09!!
Remember, NO school October 23rd, 26th, 27th.
We will celebrate Reformation on Friday, October 30th. Children in grade two generally love to dress in costume so for that day they may come in costume as someone from the Reformation (Examples: Martin Luther, Hans Luther, Margaret Luther, John Tetzel, Katie Luther) or they may choose a favorite person from the Bible. (Some examples would be studied Abraham and Sarah, Isaac, Esau, Jacob, Moses, Aaron his brother, Joseph, Deborah, Gideon). We’ll have a parade of costumes in the morning. Please have your child wear the costume over regular school clothes or he/she may change after our parade.
Notes will be sent home regarding the Reformation Party in the afternoon. Thank you.
Don’t forget Book-It is due October 30th.
Remember, this is a way your child can be recognized at Awards Day. Please help your child meet his/her goals.
Remember that Grade Two has chapel on November 2nd. It begins at 8:30. We hope you can attend.
