Week of October 12th
Religion: The Story of Ruth, The Story of Hannah
Memory: The Ten Commandments
Monday (Due on Tuesday): The Ninth Commandment You shall not covet your neighbor’s house.
Wednesday (Due on Thursday): The Tenth Commandment You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
Math: Students will be working on adding zero, subtracting one, counting by tens to one hundred, and identifying identical designs.
Monday: Test No homework
Tuesday: Lesson 41B and Fact Homework
Wednesday: Lesson 42B and Fact Homework
Thursday: Lesson 43B and Fact Homework
Reading: We are beginning Unit 3: I Am Responsible. High frequency words for this week are get, that, this, for, jump, out. Vocabulary words used in our stories are responsibility, recycle, honest, and simple. Students will be working on the following sounds: /sh/, /th/, /ch/ spelled ch and _tch, and /or/ spelled or and ore. Students will also be reviewing the concepts of spaces between words and sentences and capitalizing the first word of sentences. Students will also be taking the benchmark test this week to assess their progress.

Thursday: Decodable #42
Friday: Test
Science: We will continue Chapter 2 about animal habitats.
Social Studies: There will be a test over Unit 1 on Thursday. Books will be sent home on Tuesday. We will do a study guide in class on Tuesday that will also be sent home.
Announcements
*The Chili Supper will be held on Friday, October 16th. Please return any unsold tickets to the office.
*We will wear our class shirts on Friday, October 16th. Shirts are being handed out as they are paid for. The cost is $7.
*A letter with your assigned conference time for parent/teacher conferences will be sent home this week. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are not able to attend at your assigned time.
