First Grade News
Week of April 18- 21
Religion: Students will discuss the events of Holy Week.
Memory: There will be no memory this week. Next week students will be working on a song for the Fine Arts Fair.
Reading: We will finish our unit about plants this week. Our story is Plants that Eat Animals. The vocabulary words are trapping, wetlands, attracts, and insects. We will be reviewing long vowel sounds. Students will also learn about contractions (I’m = I am). The test will be on Thursday.
Monday: Decodable 106
Tuesday: Read science reader
Wednesday: Read all of the story.
Thursday: Test in class
Spelling: The spelling test will be on Thursday.

Math: We will continue Topic 13 about counting money. Students will use quarters, half dollars, and dollars. There will be a test on Monday, April 25th.
Monday: Lesson 13-3 and Rocket Math
Tuesday: Lesson 13-4 and Rocket Math
Wednesday: Lesson 13-5 and Rocket Math
Thursday: Lesson 13-6 in class
Science: We will finish chapter 6. Students will bring home a leveled reader on Monday. Please keep this reader in their folder. There will be a test on Wednesday.
