Week of March 8-12
Religion: Jesus Visits Mary and Martha (Luke 10:38-42) and Jesus Blesses the Children (Mark 10: 13-16)
Memory: We will work on the song “Walkie Talkie” for the musical.
Monday: Do the Walkie Talkie, the new Walkie Talkie
When you want to get away.
Tuesday: Do the Walkie Talkie, the new Walkie Talkie
It will brighten up your day.
Wednesday: While your food is coolin’ down,
just walk around the town.
Thursday: Let music guide your feet. You can have some fun in the
morning sun to the Walkie Talkie beat.
Reading: We will finish our unit on trying this week. Students will read Winners Never Quit. There are two vocabulary words for this story: stomped and rather. Sound spellings used this week are /er/ spelled ear, long e spelled ey, and a review of long vowels. Students will also be learning about adjectives.
Monday: Decodable 98 and 99
Tuesday: Decodable 100
Wednesday: Reread Winners Never Quit in reading book.
Thursday: Decodable 101 and Winners Never Quit in reading book.
Friday: Test
Spelling: There will be a pretest on Monday and a test on Friday.
Spelling words: earth, honey, donkey, learn, money, heard, search, valley, unheard, volleyball
Math: Students will continue learning adding 9 facts and will work on identifying ½, 1/3, and 1/6, using comparison symbols (<, >, =), and dividing by sharing.
Monday: Lesson 105 Homework
Tuesday: Lesson 106 Homework
Wednesday: Lesson 107 Homework
Thursday: Lesson 108 Homework
Friday: Lesson 109 in class
Social Studies: We will continue Lesson 1 People Long Ago. Please look for a project paper to come home this week. We did not get to the project last week.
Science: We will continue talking about food chains.
