Christ is our Cornerstone!
First Grade News: Jan. 19-23
Religion- Jesus Chooses His Disciples-John 1:35; The Big Catch- Luke 5
Memory- Apostle’s Creed  
            Monday: He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the
            Father Almighty.
            Tuesday: From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.
            Wednesday: I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the
            communion of saints
            Thursday: the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life
            everlasting. Amen.
 
Math- Students will be learning sums of 10 facts, identifying congruent shapes, and reviewing problem solving this week. Students will have a fact test and written test on Wednesday.
            Monday: Lesson 94B; Facts 94B
            Tuesday: Lesson 95B; Fact Homework 95
            Thursday: Lesson 96B; Facts 96B
Reading-The theme of the unit is “North, South, East, West.” Students will be learning the /oo/ sound spelled oo, _ue, and u. Students will have a test on Friday over the concepts learned this week. The high frequency words for the test are: saw, blue, one, me, right.
            Monday: Decodable #82
            Wednesday: Decodable #83
            Thursday: Decodable #84
English: Identifying sentences of different lengths, Writing Descriptive Paragraphs     
Spelling: Students will take a pretest on Monday and then the actual test will be on Friday.  
This week words are: food, boot, room, tool, snoop, blue, clue, true, flu, duty
Handwriting- Gg                    
Social Studies- Land and Water
Science- How Plants and Animals get food

First Grade News
*Eli Brown will be the student on the all about me board next week. Please send in pictures by Friday.   
*Our 100th day is on Tuesday. Students need to bring in 5 canned goods for our food drive, dress like they are 100 years old, and bring in 100 of something to add to our trail mix such as raisins, pretzels, m & m’s, ect. Linda Lawyer from Human Services in Seymour will be here on Tuesday to collect the canned goods and talked to the students about where their donations are going.
*Friday is an early dismissal. Students will be dismissed at 12:45.
*Thursday is public library day.
*Thank you to everyone who brought in items for our class basket! Your donations are very appreciated.
