News and Notes
·   I will let you know the exact cost of the class shirts as soon as we find out what that will be.
·   Just a reminder that students are asked to dress appropriately for chapel: no jeans, t-shirts, etc. Also, remember that girls need to wear shorts under any skirts or dresses, and no flip-flops or sleeveless tops are allowed.
·   Our class chapel offerings will be going to an organization called Samaritan’s Feet that gives shoes to needy children around the world, along with sharing the gospel through VBS-type activities. If you are interested in learning more, check out the website:
http://www.samaritansfeet.org/
·   Make sure you bring in your computer headphones and art portfolio by tomorrow.
·   Our class has been asked to perform a skit at Trinity’s (Vallonia) 10th Annual Fish Fry on Sunday, September 11th. This will be sometime around 5:00; more details will come. If you know your child will NOT be able to attend, please let me know ASAP so we can start planning our presentation.
·   If you do not have your user name and password to enable you to check A.R., please go to the school web-site and click on Accelerated Reader, then Parent, and there will be a place for you to click to request a user name and password. Mrs. Klosterman will then take care of the request and you will be able to check the status of your child’s work in A.R.
·   The third graders have learned many great strategies to help them think about their books as they are reading. Ask them to show you how they check for understanding or cross-check a word!
