Memory for the Week of 10/11-10/15
This week we will be finishing the 10 Commandments with the meaning and learning our October hymn of the month, “Great Is Thy Faithfulness.” All memory will be fill-in-the-blank.
Tuesday, 10/12 (The Close of the Commandments: The Meaning)
What does this mean? God threatens to punish all who break these commandments. Therefore, we should fear His wrath and not do anything against them. But He promises grace and every blessing to all who keep these commandments. Therefore, we should also love and trust in Him and gladly do what He commands.
Wednesday, 10/13 (verse 1)
Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee.
Thou changest not: Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be.
Thursday, 10/14 (verse 2)
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.
Friday, 10/15 (verse 3)
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
