News and Notes from Grade Two
Week of October 5, 2009

Bible Truths: The Ten Commandments and The Golden Calf
Memory: For Tuesday, 10/6 Study:
The Fifth Commandment: You shall not murder.
The Sixth Commandment: You shall not commit adultery.
The Seventh Commandment: You shall not steal.
For Wednesday, 10/7 Study:
The Eighth Commandment: You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
For Thursday, 10/8 Study:
The Ninth Commandment: You shall not covet your neighbor’s house.
For Friday, 10/9 Study:
The Tenth Commandment: You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
Language Arts: We will finish Corduroy as children are able to return to school. We will have a Unit One reading quiz, hopefully; on Tuesday or Wednesday—again---depending on the health of the class. We will begin Unit Two “Let’s Explore”.
Word Wall Words: feel, ride, fall, home, because (last week’s words)
Word Wall Test/Language Test on Friday, 10/9/09
Math: Lesson 40 Assessment-Wednesday (hopefully)
Social Studies- We will work on Unit Two. Watch for the unit project information to be handed out soon.
Science- We’ll begin Chapter Three.
Grade Two will be in charge of Chapel on November 2nd. We will just begin working on it this week. Please help your child work on his/her part as it is sent home. Please try to attend if at all possible. Thank you.
Thank you for your consideration this past week as I was ill. We pray that all of us will be brought to good health soon. Please reiterate to your children the importance of taking precautions against the flu. (Frequent handwashing, coughing into crook of elbow, using hand sanitizer if washing is not possible, getting plenty of rest, etc.) Please make sure your child is well before returning to school. Thank you.
