National Lutheran Schools Week!
First Grade News: March 3-7, 2008
Religion- Zebedee’s Sons and Jesus- Mark 10; The Widows Offering- Mark 12
Memory- Bible Verses
Tuesday: Serve one another in love. Galatians 5:13
Thursday: God loves a cheerful giver. 2Corinthians 9:7
Math- Students will be learning to add 3 digit numbers and reviewing problem solving this week. Students will have a fact test and written math test on Thursday.
Tuesday: Lesson 114B; Facts 114B
Wednesday: Lesson 115B; Facts 115B
Reading- This week our class will be reading a Dr. Seuss book each day and doing activities that go with the book. Students will have a leveled reader from our unit that they will read 2nights and AR books the other 2 nights. Students will be reading a book of their choice the class on their specified day.
Monday: AR Books
Tuesday: Leveled Reader
Wednesday: AR Books
Thursday: Leveled Reader
*First Grade is doing an excellent job on AR tests. Please continue to read AR books. :)
Writing: writing a middle, beginning, and an end of a story
Spelling: No Test this week; we will be working on our word wall words in class.
Language/English- Quotations
Handwriting- Spacing of Letters and Words
Social Studies- Saving Our Resources
Science- Science Experiments

* We will continue working on our Science Fair Project this week. The students will be put in three groups. I will have 1 project for the class. This week we will be testing the experiment.
*Mrs. Owens from the public library will be here to read to our class on Wednesday.
*Friday is a half day. Students will be dismissed at 12:45.

*Thank you for filling out the AR sheets for students. If you have the book at home please either send it in or write on the sheet the title and the author. We are finding that there are several books with the same title.
*Baby bottles for the Pregnancy Care Center are due back to school this week.
*1st grade had an excellent field trip last Wednesday. Thank you to all of our students and chaperones for being good Christian witnesses.
