First Grade News: September 4-7, 2007
Religion- Birth of Moses; The Book of Exodus
Memory- Let us ever walk with Jesus (song of the month) 2nd Verse
Tuesday: Let us suffer here with Jesus And with patience bear our cross
Wednesday: Joy will follow all our sadness Where He is there is no loss
Thursday: Though today we sow no laughter That would lead us into sin
Math- Students will be writing addition sentences, learning doubles facts, identifying sides and angles of a rectangle and problem solving. Students will take a math test on Friday.
Tuesday: Lesson 21B
Wednesday: Lesson 22B
Thursday: Lesson 23B
Reading-We will continue studying the Back to School unit. We will also be reviewing the sounds /d/, /n/, and the short i. We will be working on blending sounds together. Please return the decodables the following day. As the decodables get longer please let me know if you child is having difficulty at home.

*Michelle Owens from the public library will be coming to our classroom the first Wednesday of every month. She will be here this Wednesday to read stories and talk about the library.
*Our class, along with 2nd grade, will be going to Cornucopia farms on Friday, October 19. Chaperones are welcome but will follow the bus. I will be sending home permission slips early October.
