"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that woever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."  John 3:16

When one thinks of Christmas, he usually thinks of gifts because Christmas has always been known as a time for giving.  We exchange gifts because God gave us His Son but have you ever thought of how strange this practice really is? Usually, when we attend a birthday party, we present a gift to the birthday person.  Yet at Christmas, the birthday party for Jesus, we give one another gifts and often omit giving a gift to the birthday child.

God's gift to us of His Son is by far the most valuable gift we will ever recieve.  His gift has made it possible for us to receive the forgiveness of sins and thereby enjoy life with Him forever.  Of all the things we teach our children (both at home and at Lutheran Central), this is by far the most important. For the Christmas story is on-going as it only begins the story of our salvation. We have good reason to rejoice each and every day for the blessings of God's Son.

To you and yours- may every day be Christmas day!
