5th Grade Extra Credit Opportunities
1. Only students who have ALL regular assignments turned in will be eligible for extra credit.
2. Points will be given based on the amount of work required to complete an assignment.
3. All papers must have a detailed heading with your name, the subject, and information about the assignment (page numbers, book titles, etc.)
4. Extra credit for trimester one is due on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
Options by Subject:
*SCIENCE—Read one of the science “mini-books” and answer the questions at the end. Answers should be on a separate sheet of paper and in complete sentences.
*SOCIAL STUDIES—Read one of the “Time for Kids” books and answer the questions at the end of the book on a separate sheet of paper and in complete sentences.
*MATH—Complete an unassigned set of Supplemental Practice problems from the back of the textbook. Complete one of the math related puzzles from your folder.
*SPELLING—Write your list words 5 times each and turn them in on Thursday (before the test).
*LANGUAGE—Write something! Write a paragraph about something we’ve learned this year (in any subject). Write a letter to somebody. Write a short story. Write a poem. (All work must be well-written and free of errors.)
*READING—Read a newspaper article (online or printed) related to the upcoming presidential election or anything we have been studying in class. Write a summary and attach it to the article.
