First Grade News
August 17th-21st, 2009
Religion: Creation
Memory: The Lord’s Prayer
Tuesday (Due Wednesday): Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Wednesday (Due Thursday): Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
Thursday (Due Friday): and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
Math: Students will being reviewing. I will give an assessment test on Tuesday to determine where everyone is. Depending on the results, we will start with Lesson 1 or move ahead to the next lessons. This is a tentative homework schedule.
Wednesday: Lesson 11B
Thursday: Lesson 12B
Reading: Students will be reviewing the letters of the alphabet and working on letter sounds a thru m. Students will be bringing home a book of their choice each night this week. If they cannot read it, it is okay for you to read it to them. Please remember to sign the sheet in your child’s folder.
Handwriting: Reviewing correct letter formation
Spelling: Matching uppercase and lowercase letters
Social Studies: Learning about school
Science: Living and nonliving things
