First Grade News: Mar. 30- April 3
Religion- Mary and Martha- Luke 10; Jesus Blesses the Children- Mark 10
Memory- Song- Lift High the Cross
Monday: Lift high the Cross, the love of Christ proclaim
Tuesday: till all the world adore His sacred name
Wednesday: Come Christians follow where our captain trod
Thursday: Our king victorious, Christ the Son of God.
Math- Students will learn to subtraction facts, fractional parts, and review problem solving strategies.

Reading- Students will begin unit 8, Away We Grow. Students will be reviewing the long and short a sounds this week. Students will have a test on Thursday over the story, vocabulary, and sounds for this week. Along with each test is an oral fluency assessment. Students should be able to read 65 words or more per a minute. Reading books several times, especially the decodables, is a way to improve student fluency.

Some students are starting to get in a habit of sloppy writing. Please reinforce neatness at home. Students did much better last week on writing.
