First Grade News: Jan. 5-9
Religion- Simeon and Anna- Luke 2; The Story of the Wise Men- Matthew 2
Memory- Bible Verses
Tuesday: My eyes have seen your salvation. Luke 2:30
Thursday: Arise, shine, for your light has come. Isaiah 60:1
Math- Students will be adding 2 digit numbers, dividing a square into fourths, telling time to the ½ hour, and adding 10 to a #. Students will have a fact test and a written test on Friday.
Monday: Lesson 86B; Facts 86B
Tuesday: Lesson 88B; Facts 88B
Wednesday: Lesson 87B; Fact Homework 87
Thursday: Lesson 89B; Facts 89B
Reading-Students will be continuing to read stories this week about “Weather”. Students will be learning the long a sound spelled ai_ and _ay and the long i sound spelled _igh, _y, _ie. Students will have a test on Thursday over the concepts learned this week. The high frequency words for the test are: day, way, sleep, don’t my, too

Spelling: Students will take a pretest on Monday and then the actual test will be on Friday.

*Trey Hackman will be the student on the all about me board next week. Please send in pictures by Friday.
*Thank you to everyone for the wonderful Christmas gifts. Also thank you to everyone who helped make our party a success.
*I have removed all of the pages from the journals that stay in your child’s folder. This will make it easier to keep track of notes that you or I write. Thank you for your continued support.
*Michelle Owens will be here on Wednesday to read to our class and on Thursday to for students to check out books.
