(Review) The Third Commandment-Remember the Sabbath Day by keeping it holy. What does this mean? We should fear and love God so that we do not despise preaching and His Word, but hold it sacred and gladly hear and learn it.
For 1/27/12 Study-
“Jesus is Christ . . . is the true God and eternal life.” I John 5:20
LANGUAGE ARTS:
Story- How Guinea Fowl Got Her Spots

STORY QUIZ Friday, 1/27/12
Read to Self Public Library day is January 25th. If the weather permits, we will walk down. Please make sure your child has gloves, hat, etc. We will not walk down if it is raining, the wind chill is below 20 degrees, or actual temperature is below 25 degrees. If possible, have your child wear his/her Second Grade shirt. Thanks!

Spelling and Language tests on FRIDAY, 1/27/12
MATH: We’ll still be working on Topic 10—
KEEP WORKING ON MATH FACTS! The test is scheduled for Friday.
SCIENCE-Test over Unit 3 is scheduled for Tuesday, 1/24/12.
SOCIAL STUDIES: We will begin Unit Four—People Long Ago.
Unit Project: There are two options.
Option One
Write a narrative paragraph about the important events in your life. Make sure you have a main idea sentence with details as well as supporting sentence(s) for each detail.
Option Two
Write a journal entry from the point of view of a person who lived at a different time in our country’s history. (Prior to the year 2000) Choose an explorer, a president, or other important personality. Research this person and then pretend you are that person and write a journal entry for a day in that person’s life. The journal entry will be no longer than one paragraph. Make sure you pretend to be that person as you write.
This is due February 7th.
