Unit Four Social Studies Project
Assignment: Write a journal entry from the point of view of a person who lived at a different time in our country’s history.
Step One: Make a list of several people that are important in our country’s history. Here are several ideas:
Early explorers, settlers, past presidents, other leaders
Step Two: Choose a person you are interested in learning more about. Turn the name of the person in to Mrs. Wischmeier by January 17th. Each student will write about a different historical person.
Step Three: After doing research on the person you choose, write a journal entry that will help a reader understand what your person’s life was like. Tell about a day in the life of the person or tell about an important day in the life of the person. Pretend that you are the person and based on what you find out about the person, write a journal entry. Mrs. Wischmeier will provide the paper for you.
Step Four: The class will put all the journal entries together in the correct chronological order. We’ll then have a class historical journal to read.
Due date: This assignment is due on January 24th.
