First Grade News: November 12-16, 2007
Religion- The Ten Lepers- Luke 17:11-19                 
Memory- Now Thank We All Our God   
            Monday: Now thank we all our God with hearts and hands and voices
            Tuesday: Who wondrous things has done, In whom His world rejoices
            Wednesday: Who from our mothers’ arms has blest us on our way
            Thursday: With countless gifts of love and still is ours today.
Math- Students will be using a ruler to measure a line segment, sorting groups, and problem solving. Students will have a fact test on Wednesday and a written test on Friday.  
            Monday: Lesson 71B; Fact 71B
            Tuesday: Lesson 72B; Fact 72B
            Wednesday: Fact Homework 70
Reading-We are continuing this week with stories about “Our Neighborhood at Work”. Students will be working on the long a sound spelled a and a_e. We will also be reviewing the y, v, and le sounds this week. Please work on these sounds at home if you notice any problems let me know.  
            Monday: Decodable #59
            Thursday: Decodable #60
Spelling: The test will be on Friday.
            Words: cake, ate, same, tape, puzzle, table, whale, apple, twinkle, jungle
*Just a reminder that students need to study their spelling words during the week.

* Megan Pottschmidt will be on the All About Me Board the week after Thanksgiving. Please send in pictures by Friday.
 
*On Wednesday, Mrs. Bruce from the health department will be in our classroom for a hand washing demonstration.
 
*Report Cards will be handed out on Friday.
 
Friday is our Thanksgiving party. *Michelle Owens from the public library will be here on Thursday for students to check out books.
 
 
During the week of Nov. 26 students will be sharing with the class what their mom or dad does at work. Students may either tell about the job or you may choose to come in to talk to the class. If you would like to speak to the class about your job that would be great! Please let me know if you would like to come and when. Anytime that week will be fine, I just need to know by Friday, November 16. Thank you!
 
Next week is our Thanksgiving break. Classes will resume on Monday, Nov. 26. Enjoy! Happy Thanksgiving!
