The high frequency word list that your child was tested over will be sent home this week. Words that are marked are words that your child needs to continue working on at home. They will be retested on Friday. These are words that students should be able to recognize quickly while reading.

Spelling: There will be a test on Friday.
1. can           2. on            3. am            4. and          5. there
6. like          7. at            8. are
I know “are” was on the list last week. Several students missed it. It is an important word so I am putting it on the list again.

Social Studies: We will begin Unit 4: Our Changing World. We will be talking about how tools, communities, and schools have changed over time. The mini-project sent home on Monday is due Wednesday.

Announcements

*I think some of the students have grown over the summer! Clothes may not fit the same as they did at the beginning of the season. Please note that students’ shorts and skirts should come to at least mid thigh. When students hold their hands at their sides, their shorts/skirt should at least come to their fingertips. Students not wearing appropriate length clothing will be asked to change.   Thank you.

*Please send your child’s art portfolio to school if you have not already done so.
