End of Year Class Trip

Dear Parents of First and Second Graders:

This year our end-of-the-year field trip will be to the Louisville Zoo.

We will leave school as soon after 8:20 as we can on Tuesday, June 1^st. The cost for the trip is $9.50. This covers admission to the zoo, riding the bus and a snack. 

The students are asked to bring their lunch in a small lunch box type cooler or in a brown paper bag. A basket will be available to store brown bag lunches.   A cooler will be provided for your child’s drink. We ask that you do not send pop. There will not be room for any perishable items. When we arrive at the zoo, we will have a drink and eat a snack (provided). We’ll eat a late lunch and then return to school at around 2:30. 

Please send the permission slip and money for the trip to school by May 28, 2010. 

Based on past experience, we won’t ride the train, visit the gift shop, or buy any food items while at the zoo. Do not send money on the day of the trip. It will not be needed. We have asked the chaperones to honor our policy as well. We are only able to be at the zoo for a limited period of time, so we want to make sure the children are able to see and learn as much as possible while we’re there. Thank you.

bus and will be expected to abide by the classroom and   

school expectations at all times while on the trip.
