With ISTEP testing beginning next week here are a few suggestions:
1) Attendance is important!! Make sure your child is here in school unless they have a fever or feel really bad! Students will do better taking the tests with their class than they will taking a make-up test by themselves after school.
2) A good night’s sleep is important! Be sure your child gets to bed at their normal time each night so they can be at their best in the morning.
3) A good breakfast is important! Make sure your child eats a good breakfast before coming to school. Snacks will be provided, but not until around 10:00 A.M.
4) No Mechanical Pencils! Make sure you child has several #2 lead pencils for the testing as mechanical pencils are not allowed to be used!
5) A calculator can be used on portions of the test, so if your child has one to use, please make sure that it is with them each day next week. The calculator may not have any stored information contained in it. An inexpensive, 4-function calculator is fine.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the office or your child's teacher!
