Congratulations! You have just been hired to work at the Indianapolis Zoo! Your new job is to prepare the animal exhibit labels. You will also be teaching visitors about the animals and their special adaptations.

Before creating your labels, you must do some research on the animals found at the zoo so you can present all the facts to the visitors.

First, you must choose one animal, found at the zoo, to research. You may use encyclopedias, library books, or the following websites to help you get started:

·        www.indyzoo.com

Use the questions on the next page to help you collect information as you research in books, at the library, or on the Internet.

Use plain white paper or poster board to design your finished label. The label should include a title and a well-organized paragraph summarizing the information you found in question numbers 1 – 7. The information should be neatly printed or typed. You should also include at least one picture (in color) of your animal. You may draw it free-hand or trace a picture from a magazine or the Internet.

Your project is due Wednesday, October 14th. The project is worth 40 points and will be graded on neatness, creativity, and how well you answered questions 1 – 7.

Good luck!
