First Grade News: August 27-31, 2007
Religion-God Blesses Abraham; Isaac is born
Memory- Let us ever walk with Jesus (song of the month)
Monday: Let us ever walk with Jesus, Follow His example pure
Tuesday: Through a world that would deceive us, And to sin our spirits lure
Wednesday: Onward in His footsteps treading, Pilgrims here, our home above
Thursday: full of faith and hope and love, let us do the Father’s bidding.
Math- Students will be identifying a number between two numbers, dividing a solid in 1/2 , using a pictograph, problem solving. Students will take a math test on Friday.

Reading-We are starting a new unit this week called Back to School. We will also be reviewing the sounds /m/, /s/ , short a, /t/. We will be working on blending sounds together. Please return the decodables the following day.

*Please go over high frequency words with your student. We will be testing them on Monday and Tuesday over the circled words.
Handwriting- Writing Slants, circles, and horizontal lines
Spelling- practicing high frequency words/ word wall

Science- Living and Nonliving things
*No School on Monday, September 3 due to Labor Day.
*Remember to send in Bullying Program forms. The forms are due on Friday, Aug. 31.
*Our class, along with 2nd grade, will be going to Cornucopia farms on Friday, October 19. Chaperones are welcome but will follow the bus. I will be sending home permission slips early October.
