News and Notes
· We are beginning our first novel unit this week. We will be reading The Whipping Boy. As we will be doing many activities with making predictions and reacting to the reading in class, please do not let students read ahead! If your child struggles with comprehension, re-reading the chapters at home with an adult may be helpful for them. We will be learning in class how to write in a response journal while reading. Students may be required to complete this at home after we practice together.
· Reminder to students who submitted a proposal for science extra credit that projects are due this Thursday! No late E.C. will be accepted.
· Spirit Days this week:
o 11/9—Sports Team Shirt Day
o 11/10—Hats, Sunglass, and Flip-Flops Day
o 11/11—Red, White, and Blue Day
· As the weather gets colder, students will still go out to recess whenever possible. Please make sure your child has an appropriate jacket (and hat/gloves when necessary). Even on yucky days, we will try to go out if it is not actually raining at recess time.
