Week of October 25-29

Religion: Students will be learning about Reformation and Martin Luther.

Memory: All of The Lord’s Prayer will be due on Friday. If students know if before then, they may say it earlier in the week.
Our Father who art in heaven. Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Reading: We will continue our unit on responsibility. We have two great reading stories this week: Arthur’s Pet Business and Pigsty. (These are both books that can also be found at the library.)   Sounds spellings that we will learn about this week are /ar/ spelled ar, /m/ spelled mb, /w/ spelled w, /hw/ spelled wh (i.e. when, what), and /er/ spelled er, ir, and ur. High frequency words this week are little, when, went, will, girl, her, and with. These are words that will be on the reading test. Students should be able to identify the correct way to spell them. Vocabulary words used in our reading stories this week are prove, owe, complain, and inspected.
