News and Notes
· Students did a great job on NWEA testing last week. I was very proud of how hard they worked, and I could tell that they were trying to do their bests! We will take our last test today (Monday).
· Please initial the Rocket Math sheets that come home for practice after listening to your child read the facts around the outside. I will be sending home a direction sheet for fact practice; please keep it as a reference.
· Book orders will come home this week. They are due next Wednesday (October 13). I am sending home the “Arrow” catalog, which is meant for grades 4 and 5. I know that there are several students with reading levels in this range. However, please read the book descriptions in this catalog carefully to make sure they are also age appropriate for your child (some books are more geared for “pre-teens,” but these are labeled in the flyer).
· We will be having our first weekly Language quiz on Friday. These are based off our morning work, which we discuss and correct in class. Students should review these papers to prepare for Friday’s quiz. We took a practice quiz last week which students will bring home today. For the first few weeks, I will let students use their morning work paper for reference during the quiz. Please help your child remember to keep it in the binder after studying!
