First Grade News
May 17-21
Religion: Students will continue the unit on Praise.
Memory: A memory sheet will be sent home on Monday.
Reading: We will begin Unit 10 I am Brave. This week we will read Clyde Monster and The Cat and the Mice. The vocabulary words are usually, clumsy, suggest, and excitement. The students will also be learning about the following prefixes and suffixes: un-, dis-, -ness, -er, -est, -ed, and -s. We will be reviewing capitalization. The test will be on Thursday due to Track and Field Day.
Monday: Read all of Clyde Monster.
Tuesday: Reread Clyde Monster.
Wednesday: Read The Cat and the Mice.
Thursday: Test Decodable for homework
Spelling: The pretest will be on Monday. The test will be on Thursday.
Words: likes, liked, opens, opened, parts, parted, chases, chased, buried, exclaimed
Math: We will finish our unit on geometry. There will be a test on Wednesday.
Monday: Worksheet
Tuesday: Worksheet
Wednesday: Worksheet
Thursday: No homework
Science: We will be doing a few experiments to see how water changes from liquid to solid and back. We will also begin Chapter 9 about Forces and Motion.
