3rd Grade Extra Credit

Students have started asking about extra credit options. So here’s the scoop… Of course, doing extra credit is completely optional. J
1. Students must bring their idea for an extra credit assignment to Miss Kaisler. They need to get teacher approval before starting an assignment or project.
2. Only students who have ALL regular assignments turned in will be eligible for extra credit.
3. Points will be given based on the amount of work required to complete an assignment.
4. The extra credit should relate to the units that we are studying. This will give students an opportunity to gain more in-depth knowledge of something we have discussed. Subjects, units, and possible options are listed below.
Reading: There are many unique options for book reports available.
Students could also read and summarize a newspaper or magazine article.
Language: Sentences; Writing a Fiction Story
Social Studies: Our Community; Different Types of Communities
Math: We have covered many topics. Be creative!
Science: Plants, Animals, and Ecosystems

5. All extra credit is due by Thursday, November 12th. No late projects will be accepted.

*Reminder: Extra Credit is a chance for students to enrich their learning. While parents are welcome to assist their child, the project should be student-led and the student must do the work. Help your child find something they want to do, and then let them learn!
