If your child has not brought in a bag of 10 pennies please do. I will return them at the end of the school year. We use them often in math.
Please send a bag of 10 dimes in with your child.
As the weather gets colder, students will still go out to recess. The only time we do not go out is if it is below 32 degrees or snow/rain. Please send appropriate attire when that time comes.
Our Thanksgiving party will be on Wednesday at 2:15. Thank you for your donations for the tree and bench in memory of Grace. Tuesday was a wonderful celebration of Grace’s life. Please continue to keep the Scarlett family in your prayers.
Lindsey Lubker’s last day in our classroom will be this Thursday. We will have a gift for her from the class and will have a small party.
Grandparent’s Day is Friday from 8:30 to after lunch. We will go to chapel, do activities, and eat lunch. The afternoon will include a faculty versus 8th grade volleyball game and a pep session.
Mrs. Buchanan from the school corporation will be here on Thursday for speech testing.
I am looking for empty toilet paper rolls and empty coffee cans with the lid for reading activities. If you have any please send those in as you have them. Thank you!

Please continue to work on these sounds this week along with writing them. If you need extra activities please let me know. Students will be reading We Carry on Monday night, In the Park on Wednesday night, and Sam & Pam on Friday night. Remember to keep the decodables for practice. Also our class will be doing a play on Friday in the classroom. The play is coming home on Monday. Girls will need to practice the mouse part and the boys will need to practice the lion part. Please return the play on Friday so students can use it.

*Reading– We are beginning a new unit this week “Finding Friends.” We will be working on 2 sounds this week /s/ and /m/. Please work on these at home. A mini book “Seal” will be sent home on Monday night please read with your child and keep the book. “A Man” will be sent home on Wednesday night to read.

*Reading– We have finished identifying all of the letters in the alphabet. We are going to be reading Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and other books to review this week. We will have many activities with those books. We are also taking the 2nd benchmark test this week to see where each student is. I will share the 1st and 2nd test with you at our conference the 19th and 20th. We are also working on color words and opposites this week. Students will need to know there address by Friday. We will be doing address activities this week and you may see some home activities as well (I will mark them if there are.) Also, on Monday students will get a letter activity to do all week please return the form Friday

A big thank you goes to all of you for your prayers, support and kind words to the students and myself during the loss of our classmate, Grace Scarlett. Words cannot express what we have all felt during this last week, but we are assured that Grace is in her heavenly home, something that the students reminded me of often during this past week. Please remember the Scarlett family in your prayers daily. Thank you for all of your donations we will be planting a tree and getting a bench to place in Grace’s memory at school.
