News and Notes from Grade Two

For Wednesday 8/15/07 Say-“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)
For Thursday 8/16/07 Say-The First Article I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
For Friday 8/17/07 Say- “God saw all that He had made and it was very good.” (Genesis 1:31)
Language Arts We will work on recognizing the number of syllables in given words, rhyming, review the Wall Sound Cards as well as the short vowel sounds. The hard cover reader will NOT be sent home this week. Decodables will be sent home this week. They are: Sand, Tan Hats, and a Mat and Mitts and Hits . We will also read a story called Little Green Riding Hood. There will NOT be a story quiz this week.
We will work on alphabetical order and telling and asking sentences this week.
Please note: There will be a spelling test over “Lightning Words”. This test will be on Friday.
· Math We will work on review and an assessment will
be given. Homework will be sent home all
week.
