Social Studies Project: Unit Five: The unit project is an interview. Have your child interview an older family member, friend or neighbor about the history of either Brownstown, Vallonis (Driftwood), Wegan, Seymour, or any other place in Jackson County that is of historical significance. Help your child prepare for the interview by writing questions they may want to ask. Ex.: Who was an important person when you were a child? Why was he/she important to the community? What was an important event when you were a child? Did you attend? What made it special for you? You may use any of these questions/ make up your own/ or do both. Leave a space after the questions so the student can take notes. After the interview, help your child write an informational paragraph with a main idea sentence, three or more detail sentences and at least one supporting sentence each for two of the detail sentences. This paragraph should reflect what is learned from the interview. These paragraphs will be read in class. This is due MARCH 20th.
REMEMBER: Snappy Tomato Challenge is due February 29th.
Hope to see sometime during National Lutheran School's Week!
