First Grade News: April 28- May 2, 2008
Religion- Pentecost- Acts 2; Jesus Changes Paul- Acts 9:1-20
Memory- Bible Verse
Tuesday: Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus
Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Acts 2:38
Thursday: If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. 2 Corinthians 5:17
Math- We are going to start 2nd grade lessons this week. Most of the concepts are a review from the year.
Monday: Lesson 2B
Tuesday: Lesson 3B
Wednesday: Lesson 4B
Thursday: Lesson 5B; Facts 5B
Reading-We are continuing our unit on “Away We Grow” We are reviewing the long and short o sound this week. Students will take a test over this week’s story on Thursday. They will take a test on Friday over sounds and synonyms.
Monday: Read the Leveled Reader
Wednesday: Read Green and Growing
Thursday: Read Decodable #104
Writing: Explaining a Process; Writing with Details
Spelling: home, rope, toad, coast, stove, roam, goat, code
*Spelling Test on Friday.
Language/English- Synonyms
Handwriting- Slant
Social Studies- Calendars; American Customs
Science- Matter
* 1st and 2nd grade will be taking a field trip to the Louisville Zoo on Wednesday May 21. There will be a permission slip coming home soon.
*Friday, May 9 is our school Fine Arts Fair. It is mandatory for students to be there for the program beginning at 7.
*Thursday is National Day of Prayer and Ascension. We will have chapel on Thursday.
