First Grade News
Week of November 21-23
Have a happy Thanksgiving!
Religion: Elisha and the Shunammite Woman (2 Kings 4:8-37)
Memory: Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me verse 2
Due Tuesday: As a mother stills her child,
Thou canst hush the ocean wild;
Boist’rous waves obey Thy will
When thou say’st to them “Be still!”
Due Wednesday: Wondrous Sov’reign of the sea,
Jesus, Savior, pilot me.
Reading: We will continue our unit on jobs. We will focus on the long i sound this week. High frequency words found in the decodables this week are ride, walk, we, well. We will also work on classifying and categorizing.
Monday: Decodable 61
Tuesday: Decodable 62
*Please return the decodables the following day. I have piles of decodable sets that are missing one or two books. I would love to be able to put them away each day.
Math: We will finish Topic 9 Patterns. There will be a test on Wednesday.
Monday: Lesson 9-3 and fact sheet 38
Tuesday: Lesson 9-4 and fact sheet 39
Social Studies: We will continue learning about goods and services. We will also talk about Thanksgiving.
