*Thank you to Sherri Trowbridge who brought supplies for Christmas ornaments and helped students assemble them.

*At the top of the newsletter I have wrote the number of accelerated reader points your child has.

*Our class took a star reader test at the beginning of the year and another one last week. Star Reader is a reading and comprehension test. Students read a sentence or more and then answer the question. The computer then lists for me the estimated reading level of the student. This is a great tool for me to help students pick books in the library. I have listed the reading level the test gave for your child at the beginning of the year and now. If your child’s level is between 0.5 and 0.9 this means late kindergarten to early 1st grade. If your child scored this do not get discouraged, especially if there was improvement between the two scores. If your child’s level is between 1.0 and 1.9 this is beginning to end of first grade level. If your child’s level is 2.0-2.9 this is 2nd grade, 3.0-3.9 is 3rd grade, and 4.0-4.9 is fourth grade. If you have any questions please let me know.
